AI Usage & Disclosure

I use AI as a working partner throughout my publishing process. It helps me brainstorm, outline, draft, revise, edit, check continuity, organize production tasks, prepare web pages, and keep more stories moving than I could manage alone.

But AI does not publish my books for me. Every chapter goes through multiple rounds of rewriting and editing with me and with AI tools, and every final published word is read, judged, and approved by me. The final responsibility for the story, the voice, the pacing, the characters, and the reader experience is mine.

There is no AI slop here. You may still notice what some people call "AI tells," but a phrase being familiar does not automatically make it careless. I like em dashes. I like cadence. Sometimes a popular or common phrase is simply a useful phrase. Sometimes a sentence sounds familiar because English has shared rhythms, genre traditions, and reader expectations.

AI has allowed me to write more, publish more, repair older projects, continue long-running series, and tell my stories to more readers. It is part of the workshop, not a replacement for my taste, judgment, or authorship.

How you can read

You can always read available chapters for free on this site. If you want to own a copy, you can buy direct from me at a steep discount when direct editions are available, or support my work through the major bookstores.

Books with AI-assisted words

My AI-assisted publishing era begins with A Test of Fire. These public books include AI assistance in the writing, rewriting, editing, or production process:

Thank you for reading my work with curiosity and good faith. The tools may change, but the promise remains the same: I am here to tell the best Elizabeth Ann West stories I can, and I stand behind the words I publish.
